Pastoral Search Committee Updates

December 2024 (From the Newsletter)

The Pastor Search Committee recently completed the important first step in our search for a new pastor by finalizing the Church Profile. This document, required by the RCA, describes our church in many ways, including some history, our membership, our programs, our community, and our hopes and plans for our future. All this information will enable a candidate to become better acquainted with us as they consider the position. Following approval by the Consistory, our profile will be sent to the RCA, Regional Synod of Albany, Classis Clerks, other regional synods, and the RCA Seminaries and colleges. And because we have what is called a Formula of Agreement, our profile may be sent to certain other denominations within the Agreement. The Pastor Search Committee has taken your input very seriously. We thank you for all the groundwork you did with the Congregational Conversations. You can continue to support our work with your prayers. Likewise, we want to know how you are feeling throughout this process, and we welcome you to seek us out if you have any concerns that you feel have yet to be addressed. Search Committee members are Ben April, Michael York, Michele Braungard, Pam Fitzpatrick, Marissa Lombardo, Lexy Brown, Alexander Huiest, and Lou Ann Connelly.

October 2024 (From the Newsletter)

We, on the PSC, have started meeting regularly as we take on the sacred responsibility you have entrusted in us to fill the role of our new pastor. Along the way, we want to keep you informed of our progress. As of early September, we have convened a couple of times. With the help of Noreen Fargione and Mashona Walston, we are learning what the process of calling a new pastor entails and getting started with the necessary groundwork. Our first task is to compile a profile of our congregation, our community, and of the attributes we are looking for in a pastor. To do this, we are relying heavily on the results of the three Congregational Conversations compiled last spring and summer, and we thank you all for the time and care you took in providing that information. We thank you all for your support, and we ask you to keep us in prayer as we move through this process.

All Committee updates shared with the congregation are here. most recent information is at the top.
